Akensken (proper Common name Strength of Mountain) is an Armored Wyvern defined by his collected nature and ability to manipulate and mold the land itself. He is one of the protagonists of the Euthoran Song plot, Hunt of Fire.

Appearance

A typical Armored Wyvern, Akensken appears as a large, inelegant dragon of proud and sturdy stature. A history of conflict, while leaving him with visible scars and wear all across his rough, scaled hide, has failed to leave him impaired in any way, and the passage of years has left him with a valuable, noticeable addition to his body. Lodged squarely in his chest, Akensken bears a brilliant gemstone that shines with a deep, amber light. It is only barely larger than an average human's fist, and is inlaid solidly within his very skin. The large wyvern's ability to manipulate the earth is owed almost entirely to this unusual crystal.

Quotes

  • Chaneak: (While attempting to show mercy to an enemy) "I am by no means unaware of backstabbing. I do not fear it. And neither should you."
Akensken: "You do not fear treachery? To not fear betrayal is to not fear death. That's all well if you're concerned only about yourself, but in showing mercy and turning your back on an enemy, that could be another dragon's song you're allowing to end. I've seen it happen. I won't tolerate it."
  • Feravel: "If you concern yourself with the safety of strangers, you open yourself up for attack from a different angle. Concern yourself with the present."
Akensken: "I care not if I expose my own throat in ensuring the safety of others. It is because of the present that I do so; worrying for dragons besides oneself is the only way we will not end up all slaughtered. Where would my honor be if I held this belief but did not uphold it?"
