A Stone of Advancing is one of fifty one dragon scales knocked off of the Golden Firedrake Draco Maxima as a result of his battle with Corian Fyreborne, hardened into stone and hidden within Glixis Chasm in Nienearcl, Euthora. They have the ability to grant a dragon access to a form known as Advanced Formation. Through this process, they aid a dragon in unlocking its Burst Mode.

Appearance

A Stone of Advancing is a rather large object, at the size of an average Firedrake scale. It also has somewhat of a similar appearance to a dragon scale. However, it is slightly thicker, and has somewhat of a stone-like appearance as a result of being petrified. The stone is semi-transparent, and is a brilliant gold in color. It remains completely gold until its initial usage. Afterward, a white silhouette of the dragon it has been used for will appear within the stone. This silhouette usually depicts an image of the dragon in its Advanced Formation.

Function

Once a Stone of Advancing has been placed in the possession of a dragon, the phrase "Advanced Formation" will flash within it for several seconds. This will occur after a certain amount of time after being obtained, usually between several minutes and a month. Once the phrase has been uttered with the intention of using it, a surge of Excess is emitted from the stone, which will target a nearby dragon, usually the possessor. The resulting contact with Excess will transform the dragon into its Advanced Formation. After its initial usage, the stone can be activated again simply by remembering the activation phrase and intending to use the stone. In addition, the stone will only function for the dragon that initially used it.

Once in Advanced Formation, the dragon will remain in this form for one hour before reverting back. They will then enter a state of exhaustion, the length of which varies between users. In addition, the stone will go into cooldown for approximately three hours.

History

Cult of Ustream

In the Cult of Ustream canon, Lord X-Giga-X and Grodisflare explored Nienearcl and came across Glixis Chasm. This prompted an investigation of the chasm, resulting in them discovering the Stones of Advancing within a temple at the bottom of it. Lord X-Giga-X removed twenty of the fifty stones from their resting place, activating a trap in the process. Grodisflare utilized one of the stones they had taken as an escape attempt for the two of them. They returned to Ustream with the stones in their possession. Shortly after returning, Lord X-Giga-X performed experimentations to gain further information on their functioning, after which Deathstorm was given one of the remaining nineteen. Cosmic Meteor Dexus was given a stone while he and Lord X-Giga-X were under the influence of Drake Kuro. Cassiel, Charos, Mimring Thunderscale, and Pyrros were each given a stone during the progress of the first season of Cult of Ustream canon.

After the battle at Kuro's Castle following the destruction of the third seal, Lord X-GigaX and Jason Shaver had a brief encounter with Quasma Eleko, who had noticed Mimring's Stone of Advancing, referring to it as "one of her master's scales" when she pointed it out. While it did catch their attention, they did not discuss it any further. They have yet to get an opportunity to discuss this with Quasma since then.
