Welp

Can someone remind me how we were gonna fix up this navigation bar? I kinda forgot to make note of it... --Lord X-Giga-X (talk) 20:41, 28 February 2015 (UTC)

I didn't realize this was even here, haha. I think that changing or expanding the navbar's scope would be a good idea. It currently doesn't include things like the Seals of Ustream, the Euthorica Islands / Cult HQ (and other landmarks) as part of "Locations", a fair amount of the involved characters, and related concepts that would be helpful when contextualizing the canon. I don't know what kind of structure we want to give it, but I think that drafting up new ideas for representing the canon would be beneficial. --Eebit (talk) 06:16, 8 October 2015 (UTC)

Will draft something up later. {Keileon || Talk} 09:01, 8 October 2015 (UTC)

Factions vs. Groups

So what exactly is the difference signified by "Factions" vs. "Groups"? I'd assume that it pertains to the connotation of a "faction" being something that is a part of the greater Cult rather than its own separate, self-identifying group, but I wanted to clarify that here just to be certain. --Eebit (talk) 06:16, 8 October 2015 (UTC)

Personally I think that "groups" sounds a lot more informal than "factions", which is the primary reason that I made that change. Though yes "factions" does sound more like there is more to the various groups (lol) than just "the Cult" and "the Station" and "the Sealbreakers" (because OGX is still sort of affiliated with CoU, just with their own agenda; there are factions that I would not consider large enough to be "groups" at this moment, such as whatever's happening with Zio, the Erahvs/Helix team, Kuro, etc). {Keileon || Talk} 08:43, 8 October 2015 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure that Organization G-X is no longer affiliated with the Cult enough to be considered a faction of the latter group. And really, the only one of those examples I wouldn't count as a group by definition is Zio, considering he's on his own. --Lord X-Giga-X (talk) 16:03, 8 October 2015 (UTC)

Okay, so as I suspected, Giga figures that the word "factions" seems to mean that they are a specific division of the Cult rather than their own autonomous entities (in the case of OGX, the Station, or the Sealbreakers). Kuda doesn't think that the connotation is there; what she was saying is that a faction is just a more formal way of denoting what we are currently referring to as a group. Overall, it's a pretty minor clarification to make but I do think there is value in discussing it (and giving the reasons for the changes... Giga :P ).

I'd like to get some others' thoughts in here, one way or the other. --Eebit (talk) 17:14, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
