Sokohgen, often referred to as Babylois, is one of the original four continents of Rokans, and one that existed for a longer period of time than the other three. It was the initial home of the Squallan Faction, who were neutral during the time of the Quad War. The continent itself is a large landmass of grasslands and small mountains floating within Rokans' lower atmosphere. Sokohgen is also home to two rivers that flow outward from a lake in the center of the continent toward the edge of the continent, dropping into Atlacia. During the time of the war, it was recognized as an educational center and a refuge for those wanting to escape the war below. It was eventually bombarded by a devastating attack by Infinic Juptois.

Nenhygas is a supercontinent formed by the merging of Ankoka, Kohdaiku, and Magchos. The landscape of the original three continents, while somewhat distorted, were still present in Nenhygas. As such, it was split into three regions, each named after the original continents that merged to create it. Much of the remainder of the Quad War continued on the supercontinent. It eventually was broken apart, forming what are now the continents of North Nenhygas, South Nenhygas, and Neilo.

Dual-Elemental Classification System
It was several decades after the split of Nenhygas that inhabitants displaying strong affinities to two elements were observed, which made it somewhat difficult to group individuals within the six factions. Instead of including such individuals into two different factions, the Dual-Elemental Classification System was created in order to split the Rokains into the original six factions. This would be based on the faction their race would classify under and the second element they are aligned to. In the case of humans, the faction would be determined by the faction of their father if both of their parents are humans, or their human parent if they only have one human parent. Once both of these factors were determined, a prefix was then anchored onto their faction title. Thre are a total of 17 prefixes (shown in the table below). 14 of the prefixes are shared between either of the involved factions. Eclipse and Twilight exist because of differing opinions between Solas and Trajodeas.

Through this system, a Sainoid with a strong affinity to fire would classify as Magma-Rikuos. A human born of a Rokain Garuda father and a human mother of the Lumios Faction would classify as Aurora-Lumios. Rokans is a planet within the Manaverse roughly the size of Earth, orbited by a single moon. Its history consists of ongoing conflict between its inhabitants, which are split into six factions. This conflict has only gotten worse over time, especially with the introduction of the achlymperists Elevix Magnus and Infinic Juptois.

Geography

The geography of Rokans greatly varies between diferent locations. The continents themselves vastly differ from one another, having been shaped by the gods of the planet to suit their own images. While water covers approximately 65% of the planet's surface, the oceans are considerably deeper than Earth's oceans, especially at the point where the continent of Sokohgen was once physically part of the planet.

Continents

The landscape of Rokans had been reshaped multiple times. As a result, the planet itself has had a total of nine continents, one of them being a supercontinent. Initially, the planet had the continents of of Ankoka, Kohdaiku, Magchos, and Sokohgen. Currently, the planet's continents consist of North Nenhygas, South Nenhygas, Neilo, and Neosokohgen.

Ankoka

Main Article: {}

Ankoka is one of the original four continents of Rokans, and the initial home of the Anko Faction. This continent was known for its large number of thick forests and jungles, complex cave systems, and narrow valleys, in which there were very little lighting, making it difficult for most individuals outside of the Anko Faction to navigate safely through the continent. Because of this, most of the settlements of the Anko Faction were built in these locations to avoid easily being located. Ankoka was the original home of the Core Crevice, the deepest crevice on land. Ankoka was also known for being a particularly dangerous location to be in during eclipses, as destructive creatures known as Shokule wreaked havoc on the continent during eclipses. It eventually joined together with Ankoka and Magchos to create the massive supercontinent Nenhygas during the Quad War.

Kohdaiku

Main Article: {}

Kohdaiku is the largest of the original four continents of Rokans, and the initial home of the Rikuos Faction. It consisted of mostly grasslands, forests, and rocky terrain. Kohdaiku was home to a large number of cave systems, although ironically not as complex as the ones found on Ankoka. Kohdaiku also had the largest number of mountains in Rokans, in addition to having the largest mountains. The largest of these mountains was Mt. Kaive, located near the center of the continent. Within a forest on the northeastern edge of the continent lied a massive freshwater spring known as Yava Spring. Several of the towns in this continent were built underground. The inhabitants of this continent were responsible for starting the war. It eventually joined together with Ankoka and Magchos to create the massive supercontinent Nenhygas during the Quad War.

Magchos

Main Article: {}

Magchos is one of the original four continents of Rokans, and the initial home of the Flayre Faction. It is widely recognized as having the warmest climate, in addition to the most deserts and volcanoes. Magchos is home to Rokans' largest volcano, Mt. Volkyanon. Water was rare to find within the continent, and mostly had multiple lava lakes scattered across the continent and rivers of lava flowing throughout it. The inhabitants were built to be able thrive in these conditions, and thus many of their settlements were built in these deserts or just miles away from volcanoes. Magchos eventually joined together with Ankoka and Kojdaiku to create the massive supercontinent Nenhygas during the Quad War.

Sokohgen

Main Article: {}

Sokohgen, often referred to as Babylois, is one of the original four continents of Rokans, and one that existed for a longer period of time than the other three. It was the initial home of the Squallan Faction, who were neutral during the time of the Quad War. The continent itself is a large landmass of grasslands and large hills floating within Rokans' lower atmosphere. Sokohgen is also home to two rivers that flow outward from a lake in the center of the continent toward the edge of the continent, dropping into Atlacia. During the time of the war, it was recognized as an educational center and a refuge for those wanting to escape the war below. It was eventually bombarded by a devastating attack by Infinic Juptois, resulting in the complete destruction of the continent.

Nenhygas

Main Article: {}

It eventually was broken apart after Juptois had destroyed Sokohgen, forming what are now the continents of North Nenhygas, South Nenhygas, and Neilo.

North Nenhygas

Main Article: {}

North Nenhygas is the largest of the four current continents, located within the planet's western hemisphere. It was formed when Nenhygas was broken apart. Phyisically, it is the entirety of the original continent of Kohdaiku with small chunks of Magchos and Ankoka. Mt. Kaive curently resides near the center of this continent. Yava Spring is in an unknown location on the continent. A majority of the Rikuos Faction is settled on this continent, in addition to a handful of individuals from the Flayre and Anko Factions.

South Nenhygas

Main Article: {}

South Nenhygas is one of the current continents of Rokans, located within the planet's western hemisphere and south of its equator. It was formed when Nenhygas was broken apart. Phyisically, it is a majority of the original continent of Magchos with a small chunks of Ankoka. Mt Volkyanon currently resides on this continent. A majority of the Flayre Faction is settled on this continent, in addition to a handful of individuals from the Rikuos and Anko Faction.

Neilo

Main Article: {}

Neilo is the smallest of the four current continents of Rokans, isolated within the planet's eastern hemisphere. It was formed when Nenhygas was broken apart. Physically, Neilo is a large chunk of the original Ankoka ripped out of the supercontinent of Nenhygas. It retains much of the features of the original continent. The sky above Neilo is consistently covered by a thick, black cloud that blocks most sunlight and moonlight attempting to reach the continent. Despite this, the Shokule are still a major problem on this continent. It is the current home of the Core Crevice, where Infinic Juptois has been sealed. It is also the home of those who have allied themselves with Infinic Juptois.

Neosokohgen

Main Article: {}

Neosokohgen is one of the current continents of Rokans. It is considered a successor to Sokohgen following its destruction, having nearly the same landscape as Sokohgen. Like its predecessor, it is recognized as a place of refuge from the ongoing conflict on the continents below it and its redeveloped researching system, which includes computers.

Regions

Atlacia

Main Article: {}

Atlacia is a common term for the section of Rokans consisting of the planet's oceans and islands unclaimed by the Anko, Rikuos, and Flayre Factions. Under the surface of the water are numerous trenches and several submarine volcanoes scattered across the ocean floor, dense kelp forests, and multiple coral reefs. In two areas in particular are unusually massive coral reefs that are comparable to above water forests. Atlacia has served as the home of the Atlacian Faction. There are small towns on several of the islands in Atlacia. Despite this, most of the major cities in this region are actually located underwater. Several of these cities are located within trenches to be made difficult for enemies to infiltrate. The major capital of Atlacia, Neptunui, is located within Major Aquatii, the deepest trench on the planet.

Polar Light Caps

The Polar Light Caps are two massive ice sheets that lie at the poles of Rokans. They are known for their constantly cold climate and brilliant auroras. Strangely, both of these areas have constrasting coasts, with the North Polar Ice Cap's coast being made of mostly ice shelfs with few ice piedmonts, and the South Polar Ice Cap's coast being made of mostly ice piedmonts with few ice shelfs. Despite being otherwise unbearable places to live it, the Polar Light Caps are home to several settlements of the Lumios Faction.

Ice Rings

The Ice Rings are small sections of cold water and ice that circle around the Polar Ice Caps. Sea ice covers much of the water in this area, serving as somewhat of a transition from Atlacia to the Polar Ice Caps. Also within this area are large icebergs and small islands, several linked to one another by ice bridges. Because they are located between the Polar Ice Caps and Atlacia, they act as borders between the two regions. As a result, there are many settlements belonging to the Atlacian and Lumios Factions.

Major Landmarks

Within Neilo is the Core Crevice, a 10-mile wide fissure located in the center of the continent. It is the deepest crevice on the continents of Rokans, and, as a result of its depth and the constantly dark skies above the continent, the darkest. At the bottom of Core Crevice is where Infinic Juptois was sealed away. A large, black castle floats several feet in the air above Core Crevice. Atlacia, on the other hand, is home to Major Aquatii, the deepest trench on the planet. It is located to the west of the continents of North and South Nenhygas. Within the depths of the trench is the major capital of Atlacia, Neptunui.

In contrast to this, the planet's largest mountain, Mt. Kaive, is located in North Nenhygas. Mt Kaive is known for being the location of the most frequent landslides on the planet. Somewhere on the same continent is Yava Spring, a massive freshwater spring that was part of the original continent of Kohdaiku. It is know for its beautiful scenery and being a paradise for Rokain Kappa (despite the race not being native to the continent). Its current location has been unknown since the formation of Nenhygas.

The largest volcano on Rokans, Mt Volkyanon, is a supervolcano that was located in the original continent of Magchos. It is now located in southwestern South Nenhygas. There has been no record of it ever erupting in Rokans' history. However, it is speculated to be the most powerful volcano on the planet because of it sharing its name with the Rokain God of Fire, Volks. As such, a supervolcanic eruption from Mt Volkyanon would be potentially cataclysmic.

Rokans is also home to the Oceran Gateways, six archways scattered across the planet: two of them in the Polar Ice Caps, one of each located at the planet's poles; one located within Yava Spring; one located to the south of Mt. Volkyanon; one located on an island within Atlacia, and one located in the center of Neosokohgen. Each of these gateways are connected to another on the planet of Ocera. These gateways exist for the sole reason of transporting people between Rokans and Ocera. There was once a seventh one in Neilo, but it was destroyed by Trajodeas following the split of Nenhygas. As a result, its sister archway on Ocera has ceased function.

Ecology

Races

Rokans is inhabited mainly by humanoid creatures, each belonging to one of six factions: Anko, Atlacian, Rikuos, Flayre, Lumios, and Squallan. The typical human is available within all six factions, but is more common within the Anko and Lumios Factions. Besides humans:

 • The Anko Faction contains the Hitogure, a race of somewhat amorphous beings of darkness. An especially rarer race in the Anko Faction is the Rokain Kitsune, having become critically endangered by the point of Juptois being sealed.
 • The Atlacian Faction contains several aquatic races. Within the islands scattered across Atlacia are reptilian and amphibian humanoids: the Rokain Kappa, a race of small, reptilian humanoids resembling the youkai of the same name; the Haeruhito, a race of anuran humanoids; and the Wanihito, a race of crocodilian humanoids. Under the surface of the massive ocean dwell two more races: the Rokain Ichthyoid, a race of piscine humanoids; and the Tohsohito, a race of cephalopodic humanoids.
 • The Flayre Faction contains reptilian and mammalian humanoids. The reptilian humanoids consist of: the Igneous Komodo, a race of varanid humanoids; and the Dracii, a race of basilisk humanoids. The mammalian humanoids consisted of: the Nuian, a race of humanoids resembling the Nue of Japanese lore that has become critically endangered by the point of Juptois being sealed; the Macropoid, a race of marsupial humanoids; and the Liios, a race of leonine humanoids.
 • The Lumios Faction contains the Kyokuhito, a race of somewhat amorphous auroral beings. Unlike the other races of the planet, the Kyokuhito were created accidentally, but were allowed to thrive as they seemed to bring no harm to the planet.
 • The Rikuos Faction contains reptilian and mammalian humanoids. Amongst the reptilian humanoids, there are: the Diaya-Edge Raptor, a race of extremely fast raptorial humanoids with claws as sharp as diamond; the Helodermoid, a race of slow-moving, venomous helodermatid humanoids; and the Gemscale Naga, a race of Naga-like creatures which has become endangered by the point of Juptois being sealed. The mammalian humanoids consist of: the Rokain Tanuki, a race closely resembling the tanuki of Japanese lore; the Moguloid, a race of molelike humanoids; and the Sainoid, a race of rhinocerotic humanoids.
 • The Squallan Faction contains two races of avian humanoids: the Tenguin, a race of humanoids resembling the tengu of Japanese lore; and the Rokain Garuda, a race of large humanoids resembling predatory birds.

Between all six factions, there are at total of 22 known races, 3 of them currently endangered.

Native Species

Culture

Language

There have been a total of three known languages spoken on Rokans. The most common of the three is English, being spoken by a majority of the planet's inhabitants. Japanese is the second most-frequently spoken language on Rokans, despite being spoken by only a handful of people. In fact, it's more common for people to use various words from the language in place of their English counterparts. The third language spoken on Rokans is Spanish, which even fewer people actually speak.

Technology

Rokain technology varies between different location of the planet. There is an existent trade system between North and South Nenhygas, Atlacia, and the Polar Ice Caps which allow for the spread of technology throughout these areas. However, by themselves, they vary greatly in technology. The inhabitants of North Nenhygas are the furthest behind despite being able to create a functioning radio system, railroads, and basic firearms. This is mainly the result of the continent being the most frequently targetted. The researching system on Neosokohgen includes the introduction of a somewhat basic form of Internet which currently is solely for database and educational services. They also have developed airships to transport people to and from the floating continent. The Atlacian Faction specializes in technology that benefits from the endless water around them. As a result, they have developed battleships and submarines, in addition to a power grid and weaponry that run off of hydroelectricity.

Neilo, on the other hand, is the most technologically advanced out of any location in Rokans. This has to do with the inhabitants either having gained technology from their allies in the other areas, stolen technology from their opposers at some point, or picked up a piece of technology from another planet, and in either case reproduced and built off of it. As a result, they have the most advanced communication system on the planet (usage of which is restricted to their own allies), a basic hologram system, and even interplanetary teleportation.

Theology

It is widely accepted by the inhabitants of Rokans that there are six major deities: Volks, God of Fire; Lacia, Goddess of the Oceans; Claiter, God of Earth and Nature; Sokohga, Goddess of the Sky; Solas, God of Light; and Trajodeas, God of Darkness. The six of them are believed to reside on Rokans' single moon. It is believed that at some point while Rokans was still a barren rock, these six deities fought each other for control of the planet. Their battle lasted for thousands of years, eventually ending in a complete draw between all six of them. The six of them then worked in cooperation to create Rokans in its original state. Lacia flooded the surface of the planet with a endless ocean. Claiter then rose sections of land above the surface of the water, creating the original four continents. He, Volks, Sokohga, and Trajodeas then shaped the four continents in their own images. Sokohgen was risen into the air by Sokohga in the process. It is believed that Claiter, Lacia, and Solas had a major hand in the creation of life on Rokans, while Volks, Sokohga, and Trajodeas had minor influence on the development of life within the continents of Ankoka, Magchos, and Sokohgen.

The gods kept their eyes on the events of the Quad War, avoiding direct involvement in the war as much as they could. However, when the Quad War resulted in the creation of the supercontinent Nenhygas, Claiter locked the shape of the supercontinent in place. This prevented any further changes to the physical shape of Nenhygas for the remainder of the Quad War. For another period of time, the gods did not have a hand in any changes during the Quad War. However, when they eventually noticed the decline in the Anko Faction, Trajodeas called for the creation of two achlymperists to help them regain their lost territory and get them out of the Quad War. The two beings created toward that end were Elevix Magnus and Infinic Juptois. However, when Juptois had defeated Magnus and split his soul from his body, they had a Soul Harvester retrieve Magnus's soul from Juptois, and then later implanted it into the body of another achlymperist. Claiter split Nenhygas after Juptois destroyed Sokohgen, creating the continents of North Nenhygas, South Nenhygas, and Neilo in the process. Trajodeas also restricted Juptois to Neilo as an added measure. And when Mephez Moorn had sided with Juptois, they sealed Juptois within the Core Crevice.

It is believed that the six of them had also created six more beings known as the Warriors of the Eyes, whom retreated to the planet of Ocera to act as guardians shortly after an incident on said planet. Shortly before attacking Sokohgen, Juptois had traveled to said planet, killed four of the six, ripped the soul of a fifth out of its body, and kidnapped and raped the sixth.

Politics

While the Rokains are divided between six factions, there are similar political systems between certain factions. The Rikuos, Atlacian, and Flayre Factions all run under forms of monarchies, in which a single individual has authority over the faction. The Rikuos Faction is run through an elective monarchy, in which their monarch is elected. One of the Rikuos Faction monarchs wished to expand their territory, which eventually led to the Quad War. The Atlacian Faction is run through a hereditery monarchy, in which sovereignity is passed down. The Flayre Faction, however, has a tournament of combat when the current monarch wishes to step down. The winner of said tournament then takes their places as Flayre Faction monarch.

The Anko Faction is run through a monarchy as well, although theirs has shifted multiple times. It was first a hereditery monarchy before Elevix Magnus and Infinic Juptois appeared on Rokans. After the two of them restored the territories of Ankoka and pulled the Anko Faction out of the Quad War, the faction became run through a diarchy in which the two of them had power. After Juptois defeated Magnus, the diarchy shifted back into a monarchy in which Juptois reigned supreme. Power shifted to his descendants after he was sealed away in the Core Crevice.

The Six Factions of Rokans

When the six gods of Rokans shaped the planet as it originally was and created its first lifeforms, their influence on the planet had also created elemental umbrellas across the planet. These elemental umbrellas varied by the areas each of the gods had influenced. The resulting elemental umbrellas also affected the inhabitants of the planet, playing a major role in spread of abilities. Because this made it relatively easy for the gods to keep an eye on their own creations, they divided the inhabitants into the six factions of Rokans.

 • Anko Faction: The Hitogure, Rokain Kitsune, and humans in Ankoka. This was changed to humans displaying a strong affinity to darkness following the split of Nenhygas. This faction is observed by Trajodeas.
 • Atlacian Faction: The Rokain Kappa, Haeruhito, Wanihito, Rokain Ichthyoid, Tohsohito, and humans in Atlacia and the Ice Rings displaying a strong affinity to water. This was changed to all humans displaying a strong affinity to water following the split of Nenhygas. This faction is observed by Lacia.
 • Flayre Faction: The Igneous Komodo, Dracii, Nuian, Macropoid, Liios, and humans in Magchos. This was changed to humans displaying a strong affinity to fire following the split of Nenhygas. This faction is observed by Volks.
 • Lumios Faction: The Kyokuhito and humans in the Polar Light Caps and the Ice Rings displaying a strong affinity to light. This was changed to humans displaying a strong affinity to light following the split of Nenhygas. This faction is observed by Solas.
 • Rikuos Faction: The Diaya-Edge Raptor, Helodermoid, Gemscale Naga, Rokain Tanuki, Moguloid, Sainoid, and humans in Kohdaiku. This was changed to humans displaying a strong affinity to earth following the split of Nenhygas. This faction is observed by Claiter.
 • Squallan Faction: The Tenguin, the Rokain Garuda, and humans living in Sokohgen. This was changed to humans displaying a strong affinity to air following the split of Nenhygas. This faction is observed by Sokohga.

Dual-Elemental Classification System

It was several decades after the split of Nenhygas that inhabitants displaying strong affinities to two elements were beginning to be observed, which made it somewhat difficult to group individuals within the six factions. Thre are a total of seventeen prefixes (shown in the table below). Fourteen of the prefixes are shared between either of the involved factions. Eclipse and Twilight exist because of differing opinions between Solas and Trajodeas.

Dual-Elemental Classification System Second Element

Through this system, a Sainoid with a strong affinity to fire would classify as Magma-Rikuos. A human born of a Rokain Garuda father and a human mother of the Lumios Faction would classify as Aurora-Lumios. However, a human born of human parents, the father from the Anko Faction and the mother from the Atlacian Faction, would classify as Trench-Anko.

Individuals with strong affinities to three or more elements have yet to be observed, thus the classification system has not been altered any further.

The Beginning

The history of Rokans began when the six gods of Rokans appeared on the planet while it was nothing more than a barren rock in the Manaverse. Each of the gods wanted to claim the planet in their own elements: Claiter, Earth; Lacia, Water; Volks, Fire; Sokohga, Air; Solas, Light; and Trajodeas, Darkness. This soon led to a battle between the six of them that lasted for thousands of years, ultimately ending in a six-way stalemate. Instead of continuing their battle any further, they instead chose to work together to shape the planet in their own image. Lacia flooded the planet with a torrential downpour, creating an endless ocean in the process. Then, Claiter rose four massive landmasses over the surface of the ocean, creating the continents of Kohdaiku, Magchos, Sokohgen, and Ankoka. He, Volks, Sokohga, and Trajodeas then changed the landscape of the continents to fit their own images. During the process, Sokohga ripped the continent of Sokohgen from the ground and brought it into the sky. Soon after, the polar regions had frozen over, resulting in the creation of the Polar Light Caps.

Once the shape of Rokans finally suited them, the six of them then worked together to create lifeforms on the planet. Claiter and Solas created the first humans on the planet, placing them in Kohdaiku before slowly spreading them out to the rest of the planet. Humans placed in Atlacia initially drowned, so Lacia reshaped them in her own image, giving humans in that area the ability to breathe underwater and creating the first Rokain Ichthyoid and Tohsohito. Soon after, Claiter, Lacia, Volks, and Sokohga created several other life forms. While this was going on, Solas began to flash auroras above the skies of the Polar Light Caps, which eventually led to the accidental creation of the Kyokuhito. Finally, Trajodeas created Hitogure in Ankoka. However, a solar eclipse following this resulted in a sudden mutation in the Hitogure, creating the Shokule. Upon realizing this, Trajodeas sealed the Shokule away on the moon, and altered the Hitogure to prevent this incident from happening again. The six gods then retreated to the moon and began to observe the planet they had created.

The Quad War: Ankoka vs Kohdaiku vs Magchos vs Atlacia

Approximately 3000 years had passed since the introduction of the humanoid races to the planet. The six factions remained somewhat isolated from each other, and as a result, there was no conflict between any of the factions. But eventually, the leader of the Rikuos Faction had looked up the continents of Ankoka and Magchos, seeing the two as a possibility to expand their territory. Within months, the Rikuos Faction had created land bridges to the two continents. Upon doing so, they proceeded to attack the Anko and Flayre Factions, claiming territory where they had won battles. This had effectively gotten both factions furious at the Rikuos Faction, and both factions soon declared war on the Rikuos Faction. At the same, the land bridges that the Rikuos Faction had created cut through Atlacia, effectively taking territory away from the Atlacian Faction as well. They eventually retaliated against the Rikuos Faction. It wasn't long before the Anko, Atlacian, and Flayre discovered that they had a common enemy, and formed an alliance against the Rikuos Faction.

However, as they successfully drove the Rikuos Faction back into Kodaiku, the Rikuos Faction had effectively changed the landscape of the continents just enough to make reclaiming land from them a conflict in of itself. The 3-Faction Alliance fought over the territories they won back, which eventually led to battles between themselves. This led to the alliance eventually disbanding, and with the Rikuos Faction still fighting against them, led to the four factions fighting each other in a massive war that came to be known as the Quad War. A war which neither the Lumios nor Squallan Factions took any part in. As the progressed, the landscape of the planet changed even further, eventually reaching a point where the continents of Ankoka, Kohdaiku, and Magchos had merged together into the large supercontinent of Nenhygas. It was at this point that Claiter locked the shape of Nenhygas in place, preventing any further shifts in the landscape. It was on Nenhygas that the Quad War continued for several hundreds of years. But as the war dragged on, it eventually became clear that the Anko Faction was beginning to lose the war.
